Every year I get lots of questions on how to start seeds and transplant seedlings . To see how I start the seeds gohere , but here ’s how I transplant my baby seedling up into with child pots .

Here are the seedlings today from when I planted on February 8 .   find the first rightful leave are show . They are now quick to transfer . Ca n’t let them get too big in these shallow seedling tray . With my marks , I can see what did n’t germinate .

Here ’s the line up of what each act stand for again if you require to see how each source variety uprise .

I apply 4 and 6 multitude pots for transplanting up . I disinfect them in a kitchen sink full of water system with about 2 tablespoons of bleaching agent . Just dunk the tummy and any tray you may use and then rinse them off and they are quick to plant . You do n’t have to scrub them , just douse them in quickly , like they use to do with the glasses in those old college bar ( oops , give away my yesteryear ! ) If they are blade raw , never been used before , then skip the bleaching .

I ’m using ‘ Moonshine ’ planting soil . I babble about ithere . neat stuff .

Be sure to pre - dampen the planting soil . Here I ’m using a shallow ‘ Tub Trug ’ . I fuck those vat — so handy - from this to harvesting crop later on and they come in merriment colors .

Make some holes with your fingerbreadth fully grown enough to oblige the root ball . You ’ll be surprised how big the little rootballs are .

I take a small tongue ( this one plastic ) and gently pry up the seedling out of the tray and carefully put it into a hole I made in the land .

nibble up seedling by the leave of absence NOT the stem . The stems can get easily damage so always treat them from the foliage . Notice the theme ! I ordinarily like to put the stems a little deep in the kettle of fish so they remain firm upright .

softly pack the stain around them so they are sitting up nicely and not leaning .

Water them with a diluted solution of   seaweed plant food and Superthrive to help with any transplant shock . Do NOT give them any fish fertilizer as that may give them too much nitrogen when first transplantation and send them into shock . Wait a couple of weeks before giving them any fertilizer with atomic number 7 . The seaweed and thrive help decoct any transplant shock .

Here is one of the first flats transfer . Ai n’t they pretty ? ! Now they are ready to take off and really grow ! The next replanting will be into the greenhouse raise beds when they are bigger !
