As this year comes to a close , and now that I have a small free time , I feel that I should assume the invitation from my friend Glen Lord to tease our common friend , and young man member of the Cactus and Succulent Society , Dr. Matt Opal and tour theUniversity of Connecticutgreenhouses in Storrs , CT . Storrs CT , is a short 20 min drive from my house located in primal Connecticut , and on this rather mild December day , we decide to spend a few hours tour the many greenhouse at this farming school conveniently situated amidst classic New England snowy farm house , nineteenth century reddish barns and the rolling tilth mound of primal Connecticut .

Once inside , we were gather with the affectionateness of steam tube and the steamy estrus of an equatorial rain forest – well , OK , we first entered into the Equatorial Africa house , which somehow was perfect for any December mean solar day . The horticultural and botanical delights were   owing and I encourage you all to visit your local university ( insure first if the take visitors ) if only to experience what few botanic garden do propose today – botanical multifariousness and highly interesting , if not educational and sure breathe in collections of plants seldom seen outside of a fistful of collections .
