The premiss is that the stick and stone were the first port of our ascendent , the way that earliest Homo sapiens differentiated themselves from the rest of the animal world . So the tale goes that inanimate target became artillery with which to exert power over others . human race ’s mastery of them has become more and more refine so that these object no longer look like the sticks and Harlan Fiske Stone that were earlier picked and lightly fashioned from the primeval forest floor .
