SixOnSaturday

It has turn a little cool again , but everything is growing like crazy . I am doing the greenhouse hokey - cokey , move things in , out , in out to temper off . The slugs are beginning to assert themselves . They are still itsy-bitsy , but will soon be strapping , powerful fellas , only too willing to crunch my endearing plant . I distrust they have already eaten my carrot seedlings . invariant vigilence require . Time for Six on Saturday – Six things , in the garden , on a Saturday . Could be anything . A bloom , a blighter , a plan , a failure , wildlife , foliage , anything at all . Join in !

Here are my Six .

1 – Dicentra spectabilis . Or Lamprocapnos . Or bleeding heart . I feature this only a couple of weeks ago for the foliation , but now it is flowering by . unearthly shape for a flower .

2 – Heuchera , ‘ Purple castle ’ . I have a few of these dot around . The underside of the leaves is even more vivid in colour than the topside .

3 – Resurrection . I was convince this gaura was dead , finish off by the various brutal atmospheric condition tour , just stick remained above soil . Today , however , a closer inspection revealed novel growth . This is first-class news , I enjoy this plant last year . I will try out to get some cuttings to root this class . What do you think I do n’t need more plant ? farcical .

4 – Plant reenforcement . I made a stack of these awhile back . I have been distributing them about the garden , just in the nick of time it seems . This monarda was well below the power system when I put them out , but now it is almost growing through the grid .

5 – Hyabells , or blueacinths . I featured the come forth shoots of these a couple of month back , unsure what they were . I thought they might be hyacinth , others thought Hyacinthoides nonscripta . Well I can confirm they are Hyacinthoides nonscripta , the invading Spanish variety – the grey squirrel of the wood hyacinth world . There is a veritable armada of them for me to handle with . I do n’t mind the flowers , but I do n’t desire them to take over . They are apparently very vigourous and hard to get rid of as they sow and leave teeny bulblet all over the place . I will be attempting to dig them up this weekend .

6 – Tulip ‘ angelique ’ . Rude not to include a tulip this calendar week , so here is Angelique . She ’s a crinkly lass , a little rose - like in appearing from the top .
