I foregather it will back up to specification next weekend but in the meantime we ’ll just have to digest ! The garden probably welcomes a flake of rest from the spicy sun which was a bit relentless at times , and sure enough a dip of rain was necessary . More please . Anyhow , it is time for Six on Saturday . Six thing , in the garden , on a Saturday . Could be anything – a peak , a harvest home , a pest , a trouble , a job completed , anything at all . conjoin in !

– Geranium ‘ Rosanne ’ . Just getting croak in my garden , in a couple of weeks I will have unruly hammock of it , cover in flowers .

– genus Allium christophii – I ’ve tot to my supplies this twelvemonth so I have a small copse of them . A few of them have get quite improbable , but never mind , the main point is the explody flower heads which are the size of football game .

– Rodgersia podophylla ‘ Instow ’ . This is a plant I got through the Hardy Plant Society Conservation Scheme . It was found in the garden of a stately home in Devon back in the fourscore , then that clump was destroyed in a revamp and it is now not widely useable . It has dramatic leave and should colour up nicely . The clump should get to 75 cm but the bloom spike may attain to 2 G which should be telling .

– Cornflower ‘ Blue male child ’ . Grown from seminal fluid this twelvemonth , allegedly these will keep coming and come if I lop off the spent blooms . The flower are rather small and I suspect you need a great swathe of them to make an impact . Still , they are a endearing shade of blue .

– Lupin , imperial - ish . My only enough lupin plant this yr , most have either stayed underground or been munched on emerging , it is flowering nicely now . I must sow some seed afterward in the yr . I love them but they are a martyr to the slugs n snails .

– Geranium nodosum . grow irreproachably in a shady street corner , this plant is beginning to flower and I think it will be covered in them before long . It has a reputation as a broadcaster but not so as I ’ve discover here . The efflorescence are on the belittled side but I think we can forgive it for that .
