" Our Sarasota , Florida garden is my passion . However , it can be trying to garden in an area which is prone to havingdroughtfor several months at a sentence , then swamp the next calendar month . This month we dealt with Hurricane Irma . Although the direct , most forceful smasher was in the Naples / Marco Island area of Florida , Irma still punched us with free burning 80 miles per hour winds and gusts to 115 miles per hour . It has taken us ten Day of working several hour daily just to carry fallen outgrowth near the road for FEMA cartridge . We had five uprooted modest to medium trees , a decoration with a crown that flick off , and much cutting of our generous lively oak tree canopy . However , our garden is live and I already see the recuperation process go on . Soon we will be doing more provision and planting again , as now we have more cheer streamingintomany areas , givingopportunityfor change ! This garden affords me the delight of gardening and being with nature every day of the year , and soothes me daily down to the core group ! Foliage is the main pursuit in our garden , and being in this semitropical clime , there are many interesting plants that love living here . The main necessary is improving the arenaceous soil- which we do regularly by adding oak leaves , compost and break off hardwood mulch ( reuse tree ) . The pool we ’ve create has invite many creature to drop clip here or live here , and their antics keep us wonder at the curiosity of nature .
