Colorful foliage and flowers work together in beautiful container plantings

Dawn Johnson from Memphis , Tennesee broadcast along these images of some beautiful container planting she put together for a client . Her containers step outside the usual by combining shrub , perennials , and annuals , and getting bright color from both leaf and heyday . I need Dawn how she put these combination together , and she told me that for one , it all started with a plant , sweet olive ‘ Apricot Echo ’ ( Osmanthus fragransvar.aurantiacus‘Yue Yue Hong ’ , geographical zone 8 – 10 ) . She read , “ I really fell in love with the perfumed olives when I image them with their colorful foliation . And there just happened to be only two left at the nursery , so I feel like they were intend for me . I then choose the other plants in the containers to organize with the sweet olive . Love the brightness of the heuchera ! ”

In the smaller container , she operate for bright plants that would lend colour and luminousness to a dim , part - shade country . She started with bright yellow-bellied motley osmanthus ‘ Goshiki’(Osmanthus heterophyllus‘Goshiki ’ Zone 7 – 9 ) , and then complement that color with the plant around it .
